EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - There are no reports of injuries after a giant concrete beam fell as workers tried to load it on a truck in southern New Jersey.

The accident happened Wednesday morning.

The beam is part of the new Great Egg Harbor Bridge project along the Garden State Parkway. The span, over Great Egg Harbor Bay, connects Somers Point with Upper Township.

New Jersey Turnpike Authority spokesman Tom Feeney tells The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1KQwlQC ) the contractor is working to remove the girder.

Southbound traffic has been reduced to one lane.
