PRINEVILLE, Ore. (AP) - Police arrested a father after his 3-month-old baby was taken to a Prineville emergency room for treatment of serious injuries.

The Bulletin newspaper reports (https://is.gd/l4OLWR ) the infant was in the emergency room late Friday afternoon and later transferred to a Bend hospital.

The 20-year-old father was booked into the Crook County Jail on charges of first-degree assault and third-degree assault.

The Department of Human Services, Prineville Police Department and Crook County Sheriff’s Office investigated.
