ATLANTA (AP) - Firefighters are simulating an airplane fire at Atlanta’s airport for training purposes.

A statement from the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department says the training drill will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Heavy, dark smoke will likely be visible to nearby residents and motorists on interstate highways.

The four-hour exercise should conclude by noon. It’s part of an annual certification process for airport rescue firefighters.
