PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island’s health insurance exchange says it has stopped helping people enroll for coverage in person at its walk-in center because fewer people are seeking help.

HealthSource RI announced Wednesday its walk-in center in Providence is now a drop-off location. People can deliver documents needed to enroll in coverage and make payments, but not get in-person help enrolling.

HealthSource RI says it made the change because traffic slowed after the winter open enrollment period.

The exchange says it works with a network of “health care navigators” who will continue to offer enrollment help.

The network includes community health centers and the Care New England Health System.

The members are listed on HealthSourceRI.com.

HealthSource RI says more than 36,000 people have signed up for health care coverage for 2015 to date.
