LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police are investigating after a Little Rock police officer says $840 in equipment was stolen from his locked personal vehicle.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1JLzmTB ) reports the items that were stolen from officer Roosevelt Sanders include a department-issued handgun, 46 rounds of ammunition, two pairs of handcuffs, pepper spray, a gun belt and a flashlight.

A police report released Tuesday said officers were called to Sanders’ home on July 28, where he said his vehicle had been burglarized overnight. Police spokesman Lt. Steven McClanahan said none of the stolen equipment has been recovered.

Department policy says officers are not allowed to keep agency-issued firearms in personal vehicles.
