TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - A zoo in northern Ohio is ready to show off its newest resident.

The Toledo Zoo says it’s 37-year-old orangutan named Yaz gave birth nearly two weeks to a male named Wakil (WAH’-keel).

Zoo visitors now can see the mother and son. They’re being kept indoors and separate from the rest of the zoo’s orangutans.

The zoo says it plans to eventually introduce mother and baby to the group.

Yaz has been at the Toledo Zoo since 2013. She has seven other offspring.
