ROME, Ga. (AP) - A man first arrested after an April holdup in Rome is now charged with murder.

Police say 22-year-old Eric Jordan Hunter of Dalton is being held in the death of 42-year-old Nicholas Shropshire of Summerville.

Shropshire was found unconscious along a road on April 18. Police say he was robbed of $1,500 and was seen with Hunter a few minutes before being found.

The man died a short time later, and Hunter was arrested on a probation violation.

Rome police say Hunter is now accused in the man’s death based on findings by a medical examiner with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
