NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A man wanted in the shooting deaths of two men in North Charleston last week has surrendered to police.

Police spokesman Spencer Pryor told local media that 28-year-old Chancellor Earl Thompson turned himself in Tuesday afternoon and was charged with murder.

The shooting deaths of Thompson’s brother, 29-year-old Jonathan Thompson and 32-year-old Kareem Lavar Walker, were originally reported as a shootout in which the men killed each other shortly before midnight Saturday. Pryor said a gun was found next to each victim.

Police said Monday they were looking for Chancellor Thompson.

It was not clear what Chancellor Thompson’s involvement in the shooting was. It also was not clear if he has a lawyer.
