MILWAUKEE (AP) - Prosecutors say a Milwaukee woman fatally stabbed her boyfriend and then tried to tell officers he had been stabbed in an attempted robbery.

Forty-two-year-old Diana Cunningham is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the death of 54-year-old Gerry Wilson.

Wilson was killed Saturday at a home. The Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1E90YvG ) reports when officers arrived, they found Cunningham with blood on her arms and hands, while Wilson was seated on a toilet with a knife wound to his chest.

The complaint says Cunningham at first told police she and Wilson were attacked outside during an attempted robbery. But officers found no blood outside or up the stairs to the bathroom where Wilson was found.

She then said they were arguing before she grabbed a knife and stabbed Wilson in the bathroom.
