FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) - Veteran newspaper executive Joseph Craig has been named regional publisher of the Morning News in Florence and the Carolina Publishing Group.

The Morning News reports (https://bit.ly/1MNk2HT) the announcement was made by Kevin Kampman, vice president of BH Media’s Southern Group.

Craig, who has more than 40 years in newspapers, will lead the newsroom, advertising and circulation departments.

In his most recent role, Craig was the regional publisher for the Alton Telegraph and the Jacksonville Journal Courier in Illinois.

Previously, Craig spent eight years in North Carolina, first in Lumberton and then in Mooresville.

Craig replaces Stephen Wade, who left the Morning News last month to become the vice president of audience for the Augusta Chronicle in Georgia.
