ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York’s governor is celebrating progress at a high-tech clean energy hub being built in Buffalo.
Andrew Cuomo traveled to Buffalo on Tuesday to participate in a ceremony marking the end of one phase of work on the SolarCity factory, which will manufacture solar panels.
The facility is being built on the site of a former steel mill. Cuomo says the redevelopment highlights the economic revitalization of Buffalo, a city that has long struggled to reverse decades of economic decline. The Democratic governor says the project will create 3,000 jobs in the region.
New York state is investing hundreds of millions of dollars in the project
