CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Long Island man has been arrested on child pornography charges.

Levorn Mays, of Inwood, made an initial appearance Wednesday at U.S. District Court in Central Islip.

Federal officials say Mays became a suspect in April when Dropbox, Inc. reported that a user appeared to upload 70 files of child pornography, including four illicit videos of toddlers and young girls, to their servers. Google also reported Mays to authorities after suspecting he emailed illegal images.

Court papers say Mays, a registered sex offender, told the agents he had downloaded child pornography and knew it was illegal.

Mays has a prior conviction for possessing child pornography. Police say he was also arrested in March on separate child pornography charges.

His attorney did not return a message Wednesday seeking comment.
