EAST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Police have released the names of a man and woman found shot to death in an East Haven home earlier this week and say the killings were a murder-suicide.

Lt. David Emerman, a police spokesman, announced on Wednesday that the two people found dead Monday night were 45-year-old Ingrid Del Rio Garcia and 43-year-old Guillermo Rodriguez. He says Rodriguez shot Garcia multiple times and turned the gun on himself.

Authorities say three children lived in the home, but weren’t there at the time of the shooting.

Emerman says a threatening note referencing Garcia taking away the children was found at the scene, but it’s not clear when it was written.

Police say three guns found in the home were all legally owned and Rodriguez had a valid pistol permit.
