DENVER (AP) - Authorities say a youth corrections inmate is on the loose after bolting from a Denver hospital bathroom through an adjoining, unlocked door.

The Denver Post reported Wednesday (https://goo.gl/3eOijk ) that 18-year-old Alyxander Stephen Yawn escaped from the Presbyterian Saint Luke Medical Center after his handcuffs and leg restraints were removed in an examination room at a doctor’s request.

Yawn then asked to use a bathroom, and about a minute later, a corrections officer checked on him, only to find him gone.

Yawn was serving a misdemeanor drug sentence out of El Paso County. An escape warrant has been issued.
