MIDDLETOWN TWP., Pa. (AP) - Police are holding a man as a suspect in the fatal stabbing of his 66-year-old father in suburban Philadelphia.

Police Chief Joe Bartorilla says a woman reported her son had stabbed her husband at their Middletown Township home on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (https://bit.ly/1Un5gsD ) police found the victim seated in a chair at the Trappe Lane home with a wound to his lower abdomen.

The man was taken to St. Mary Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The 26-year-old son, who was also at the home, was taken into custody. A large-bladed weapon was found at the scene. His name has not been released.

Police say charges are pending an autopsy and further investigation.
