HAMPTON, Va. (AP) - Hampton police have charged two teenagers with beating a homeless man to death during a robbery.

Sgt. Jason Price tells media outlets that police found the body of 53-year-old Charles Howard Amos on Tuesday night in an alleyway.

Price says a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy beat Amos and another homeless man and then stole a bicycle from one of the victims. They fled but were captured near the scene.

Both teenagers are charged with murder, robbery, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The other victim survived the attack. He wasn’t identified.
