BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - An arraignment has been postponed for a Vermont woman charged with second-degree murder in a fatal car crash on Interstate 89.

Police say 23-year-old Karri Benoir of Barre, Vermont, intended to kill herself when she crossed the median and hit an oncoming vehicle in Richmond on July 30. The crash killed 30-year-old Brendon Cousino of Richmond, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

WPTZ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1hlYlSm ) that Benoir was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in her hospital room at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington but the court postponed it because she is still receiving treatment and was not in any condition to face the charge.

This story corrects woman’s age in 2nd paragraph.
