ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Prosecutors say a taunt may have led to the fatal shooting of a man at a public housing complex in St. Paul.

A criminal complaint says Lepiierre Carpenter told the victim’s girlfriend that he got what he deserved for teasing him. Carpenter is charged with fatally shooting Parnell Robinson at the Roosevelt Homes complex Monday night.

The complaint filed in Ramsey County says Carpenter told police he let rage get the best of him. He’s charged with second-degree murder. Investigators say the 26-year-old victim may have been teasing someone else nearby because his girlfriend made him walk to the store and didn’t drive him.

Minnesota Public Radio News (https://bit.ly/1IJO8VD ) reports Carpenter is being held on $1 million bond.
