SYLACAUGA, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a Sylacauga man shot at police after calling an officer to his home.

Multiple media outlets report that 61-year-old Timothy Riddlehoover was charged with attempted murder after a three-and-a-half-hour standoff with police.

Sylacauga police Lt. Willis Whatley says in a news release that Riddlehoover called police early that morning, stating he was emotionally upset.

Police say Riddlehoover fired shots through a glass door when the responding officer arrived.

Whatley says Riddlehoover fired additional shots from inside his residence during the ensuing standoff before surrendering. No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is being held at the Talladega County Jail on a $500,000 bond. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
