CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (AP) - A development company in Rhode Island is seeking to refurbish a Central Falls mill complex.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1ImYded ) Pawtucket-based company Urban Smart Growth LLC has proposed creating 26 units in a building that once housed stables and a hay loft.

The Pine Street building is part of a mill complex. The units would be marketed to artists and people who could make use of an industrial space.

Michael Gazdacko, director of development, says the refurbishment will cost about $3.5 million. The company has talked with various lenders to find financing for the project, including the Rhode Island Commerce Corp.

Company employees plan to take a proposal to the planning board in Central Falls on Aug. 13 for master plan approval.
