BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - The woman who was killed when the SUV she was in slammed into a light pole in Billings has been identified as Darlene Walters.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1MOo9Uh ) that 57-year-old Walters was driving the 2008 Ford Escape when it crashed at about 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Heights area.

Lt. Casey Hafner says a 31-year-old Hardin woman and an 11-year-old boy were passengers in the vehicle. They had injuries that were not life threatening.

Hafner says the crash is still under investigation. Investigators say speed likely played a role in the crash.

The Gazette reports the site of the crash - Main Street and Lake Elmo Drive - was ranked the highest-risk intersection in the 2014 Billings Police Department annual report, with 39 crashes.
