OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma state lawmakers were paid $1.3 million during fiscal year 2015 for expenses - mostly for travel and lodging.

Legislators are paid 57 cents per mile for one round trip per week to and from Oklahoma City while the Legislature is in session. Those living more than 50 miles from the Capitol are also entitled to $160 daily for lodging.

The Oklahoman reports (https://bit.ly/1T9UMji ) that mileage and the daily payments make up most of the expenses.

Republican Rep. Casey Murdock of Felt in the Oklahoma Panhandle claimed $17,747 last fiscal year while Republican Sen. Joseph Silk of Broken Bow claimed $16,295. Felt is about 350 miles - one way - from Oklahoma City and Broken Bow is about 240 miles.

Lawmakers are paid an annual salary of $38,400.
