OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A 4-year-old boy found standing on a cold corner in Omaha has been reunited with his mother.

Police say the boy was spotted by a police sergeant around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of South 20th and Vinton, when the outside temperature was in the mid-20s. The boy had on a coat, stocking hat and gloves.

Officers fanned out and went door to door, asking residents if they knew the boy. The boy’s mother was found about three blocks away and was reunited with her son around 5 a.m.

It remains unclear how the boy got outside, to wander alone in the morning darkness.
