MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) - Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a historic house in Muscatine.

Muscatine Fire Department Battalion Chief Kevin Cannon says the fire was reported Tuesday afternoon. The owner of the house received minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, but additional information was not released.

The Muscatine Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1O26Gne ) flames were reported from the roof and rear of the brick two-story house, which was built in 1892. Firefighters battled the blaze from outside after a floor collapsed.

The fire was contained several hours later.
