SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say a body found in the Connecticut River in Massachusetts has been identified as that of a woman reported missing by her family last week.

A district attorney spokeswoman says the medical examiner confirmed Tuesday that the body recovered from under a river bridge in South Hadley was that of 61-year-old Janice Camerlin of Chicopee.

Spokeswoman Mary Carey says in a news release that the official cause of death has yet to be determined and the circumstances surrounding Camerlin’s disappearance remain under investigation.

Camerlin was reported missing Nov. 24 and her car was located the next day near the Vietnam Memorial Bridge. Her body was found Nov. 27 under the bridge, which is part of Route 116 and connects South Hadley to Holyoke.
