PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jury selection was set to begin for Philadelphia man charged with killing an aspiring teacher robbed of his iPod more than seven years ago.

Thirty-seven-year-old Marcellus Jones is already serving a life sentence for killing the getaway driver following the June 2008 killing of 23-year-old Beau Zabel.

Zabel had moved from Austin, Minnesota and was training to be a public school teacher. He was walking to his summer job at a Starbuck’s when police say Jones shot Zabel in the neck during the robbery.

Jury selection for what’s expected to be a two-week trial was supposed to begin Monday.

It was delayed until Tuesday because Jones was mistakenly not brought to court in Philadelphia from the state prison at Mahanoy in Schuylkill County.
