SLIDELL, La. (AP) - The Louisiana highway department has pushed back schedule repairs to a bridge railing on westbound Interstate 10.

The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/1MSs6Fx ) reports the repairs were supposed to start Monday, but will instead start Sunday.

The Department of Transportation and Development says the left lane of the Middle Pearl River bridge will be closed Sunday, Dec. 7, through Friday, Dec. 11, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

One lane of traffic will be open at all times while crews work on the bridge.

The concrete railing was damaged Nov. 3 when a tractor trailer plunged off the bridge and into the river below. The driver died in the multi-vehicle accident.
