RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a 31-year-old man accused of starting a fire inside a dumpster and then stealing a Reno Fire Department vehicle.

KRNV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1PpM4eH ) that Brandon Kearney was arrested Saturday in connection with the Sept. 5 incident. He faces several charges, including arson, grand larceny and destroying fire equipment.

Police say Kearney had started the fire at a dumpster outside a business. When fire crews responded, police say Kearney broke into the fire house and stole the fire equipment vehicle.

Officials say a battalion chief recognized Kearney from the incident in downtown Reno Saturday. The police were notified and Kearney was arrested.
