BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (AP) - A 28-year-old man acquitted in the 2009 killing of his father’s girlfriend has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated sexual assault.

David Granskie Jr. entered the plea Monday in Somerset County Superior Court. Granskie was awaiting retrial on several charges that a jury was deadlocked on when it found him not guilty of murder in the killing of 45-year-old Carolyn Stone.

Prosecutors are recommending that he be sentenced to time served. He’s been behind bars for more than six years since his arrest.

Granskie had confessed to the killing, but his attorney argued it was false.

Gary Wilson has pleaded guilty to killing Stone with a cinder block. Another man, Rocky DiTaranto, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit aggravated sexual assault in the case.
