TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputies say they’ve arrested a man for the fatal stabbing of a woman in her home in July.

KCPQ-TV reports (https://goo.gl/LHmPRF ) the 32-year-old suspect has been booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Authorities say they found 69-year-old Lynn Cooper stabbed to death in her Key Peninsula home in July after her vehicle had been abandoned on a local street.

Detectives had no leads until a relative turned in a knife found behind the suspect’s home. Sheriff’s detective Ed Troyer says it is believed the suspect was burglarizing the home when Cooper was killed.

He says the suspect has been cooperative.
