EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 61-year-old man with driving under the influence after authorities say he rear-ended a school bus on Edisto Island, injuring five students.

The sheriff’s office tells local media outlets that Robert Long was arrested Monday. Maj. Eric Watson says the bus was carrying 20 to 25 high school students and was stopped on Highway 174 when it was rear-ended by another vehicle.

Watson says five students sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.

It’s unclear if Long has an attorney.
