FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man has been indicted on murder and other counts in the strangulation deaths of his cousin and her foster daughter last year.

Monmouth County prosecutors say 59-year-old Brian Farmer killed the pair after the woman caught him taking pornographic photos of the 10-year-old girl. He remains jailed on $2.5 million bail and faces a life sentence if convicted.

Farmer faces two counts of murder and four counts of child endangerment in the indictment handed up Monday by a county grand jury.

The charges stem from the deaths of 62-year-old Joan Colbert and Veronica Roach. Investigators have said they found pornographic photos on Farmer’s cellphone.

Farmer was released from East Jersey State Prison in 2009 after serving 13 years for assault, aggravated sexual assault and arson.
