FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison in a North Dakota child pornography case.

Billy Wynn Jr. pleaded guilty in February to distribution and receipt of materials involving child pornography. Authorities say the offense included more than 600 images.

Wynn’s attorney, Christopher Lancaster, asked for a sentence of 11 years because the crime happened over a short period of time. Lancaster says there’s no evidence to prove that his client was involved in child porn for longer than one month.

U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson says Wynn has a long history of theft-related crimes, has spent time in prison and has not modified his behavior. The judge says Wynn is a high risk to re-offend.

Erickson also ordered Wynn to serve 20 years of supervised release.
