CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Morgantown woman who pleaded guilty to setting an apartment complex on fire has been sentenced to five years in federal prison.

Thirty-three-year-old Sarah Beth Meckley also was ordered Tuesday in federal court in Clarksburg to pay $1.2 million in restitution.

The May 2014 fire occurred at Morgantown’s Chateau Royale Apartment Complex.

Meckley pleaded guilty in June to arson of a building used in interstate commerce.

The blaze was in the second story of an office building at the complex and it took fire crews hours to extinguish the flames. Firefighters say they also had to contend with chemicals stored in the building.
