RENO, Nev. (AP) - A northern Nevada ranch property has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

KTVN-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1lVBIXc ) that the Douglass-Frey Ranch, located just south of Fallon, began in the 1860s.

Ranch owner Colby Frey is a third-generation farmer who has been working on the property since his childhood.

The Frey family has been farming in Nevada since the 1850s, but the land they live on today was not purchased until 1944.

Nevada State Historic Preservation Office spokesman Jim Bertolini says the ranch’s centerpiece, the Douglass Mansion, made the ranch stand out among other historic places.
