NEW YORK (AP) - New York City authorities say they’re investigating the weekend attack on a man dressed as a woman as a possible hate crime.

Police say the 35-year-old victim was attacked while arriving home at about 4 a.m. Sunday in Jackson Heights, Queens.

The victim was hit in the head and face, thrown to the ground and slammed into the curb. Authorities say the patient remained unconscious and in critical condition on Tuesday.

Authorities say the suspect fled the area and is described as a man in his 30s.
