COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A central Ohio woman tearfully apologized before a judge sentenced her to 18 years in prison for causing an accident that killed three people.

As part of a plea agreement, 34-year-old Melissa Ann Robins pleaded guilty in Columbus on Monday to three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and four counts of aggravated vehicular assault.

The Columbus Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1TgPcqT ) reports that her blood alcohol content was 0.104 percent at the time of the crash southwest of Columbus on the night of Sept. 7, 2013. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.

Robins’ car drifted across the center line into oncoming traffic and struck a Honda Accord carrying a family of five. A 9-year-old boy in that car was killed, as were two people in Robins’ car.
