MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) - Authorities in eastern Oklahoma are searching for a state prison inmate who apparently walked away from a work detail.

Department of Corrections spokesman Alex Gerszewski told reporters that 51-year-old Douglas Wilson was last seen Tuesday near the Department of Human Services building in Muskogee. Gerszewski says Wilson was part of a group delivering items made at the Oklahoma Correctional Industries factory when he walked away about 10:30 a.m.

OCI uses inmates to produce mattresses, mop heads, boxes and cleaning chemicals that can be bought by state agencies.

Wilson was serving 10 years at the John Lilley Correctional Center in Boley for various convictions that include assault and battery, endangering others while eluding police, malicious injury to property, knowingly concealing stolen property and aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol.
