RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - A former Rutland city attorney now serving time for a 2013 hit-and-run crash that killed a 71-year-old woman has lost his law license.

WCAX-TV (https://bit.ly/1OBhHOY ) reports that the Vermont Supreme Court issued an order last week to disbar 55-year-old Christopher Sullivan. The move prevents Sullivan from practicing law in Vermont.

Sullivan was convicted in March of DUI with death resulting and leaving the scene of an accident.

Authorities say Sullivan was drunk when he struck Mary Jane Outslay, of Mendon, with his vehicle in April 2013 as she was crossing Strongs Avenue in downtown Rutland.

Sullivan was sentenced in July to 10 years in prison for the crime.
