SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - Fire officials say a blaze at a condominium in central New Jersey killed one person.

Kendall Park Fire Chief Chris Perez says firefighters got a call Friday afternoon from a neighbor in an adjacent unit in the South Brunswick complex who smelled smoke.

Perez says the fire appeared to have been concentrated in the home’s living room, which is where the victim was found. He did not have any information on the identity of the victim.

None of the other approximately 10 units were damaged, though the complex was briefly evacuated because of carbon monoxide concerns.

The fire is under investigation by police, the Middlesex County fire marshal and county prosecutors.
