PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A second witness says she saw a suburban Philadelphia police chief’s daughter throw punches during a vicious group attack on a gay couple.

Kathryn Knott went on trial Thursday after pleading not guilty to charges that included aggravated assault and conspiracy.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (https://bit.ly/1NnsHwX ) Michelle Moore testified that she saw a woman matching Knott’s description punching a man on the ground. Another woman recalled a similar account on Thursday.

The group was tracked down after images of the September 2014 attack were shared by news outlets and on social media.

The group of suburban friends were celebrating a birthday in Philadelphia when they encountered the couple, whom prosecutors say were punched and pummeled. One suffered a broken jaw and severe facial injuries.
