DENVER (AP) - A judge has set $550,000 bail for a man accused of shooting a Denver police officer during a traffic stop.

The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/IsAAxA ) 36-year-old Jason Wood is being held on charges of attempted murder and robbery in connection with Tuesday’s shooting of officer Antonio Lopez Jr. and the carjacking that followed.

Lopez was shot several times and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He was listed in serious condition Friday after undergoing his third surgery.

Wood was also shot in the leg.

Investigators say that after the shooting, he fled on foot and carjacked a nearby vehicle. Wood, who had an outstanding warrant for robbery, was arrested a short time later.

Booking documents do not indicate if he has hired an attorney.
