HOUSTON (AP) - Tony Sipp has agreed to an $18 million, three-year contract to remain with the Houston Astros.

A 32-year-old left-hander, Sipp had a career-best 1.99 ERA in 60 games last season. He was 3-4 with 62 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings.

Over the last two seasons, Sipp has held opponents to a .184 batting average. He pitched 5 1-3 scoreless innings of one-hit relief in this year’s playoffs, appearing in all six of Houston’s games.

Sipp signed with the Astros in May 2014 after he was released by San Diego. He pitched for Arizona in 2013.

Houston announced the agreement Friday. Sipp will make $6 million in each season.
