BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Police have arrested a man suspected in a fatal stabbing in downtown Billings.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://goo.gl/nvW3dM ) 55-year-old Robert Bauer was arrested Friday in the death of 40-year-old Joseph Brokenrope, who was stabbed in the lower abdomen the night before. Bauer is being held at the Yellowstone County jail on a charge of deliberate homicide.

Brokenrope’s pastor, David Morales, of the Billings Praise Center, says Brokenrope was a devoted family man who had been sober for years, was active in the church and worked to get children off the street through activities like boxing.

Known by the nickname J Roc, he was a boxing coach at Barrio Golden Gloves.
