DOVER, Del. (AP) - Dover Police say a 16-year-old was injured in a shooting.

It happened about 4 p.m. Thursday in The Hamlet development on Village Drive, the department said in a news release. Officers were called for a report of shots fired, but found no victims or evidence of gunfire.

Authorities say 3 hours later, a 16-year-old arrived at Kent General Hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He was treated and released.

The shooting is under investigation.
