LONGWOOD, Fla. (AP) - Four people were hospitalized after a crash involving a deputy’s patrol vehicle in central Florida.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Scott Sullivan was driving through a Longwood intersection early Saturday when his marked patrol SUV collided with a Volkswagen car carrying two people.

Sullivan, 29, and a 31-year-old passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries. FHP Sgt. Kim Montes says Sullivan’s passenger was in “pre-employment status” with the sheriff’s office.

Montes says the 28-year-old passenger in the Volkswagen was hospitalized in critical condition, and the 73-year-old driver was hospitalized in serious condition.

Troopers are investigating the crash.
