SYDNEY (AP) - The Western Sydney Wanderers beat Melbourne Victory 2-0 Saturday for their seventh consecutive win, moving four points clear in first place in Australia’s A-League.

Striker Mark Bridge scored in the 54th minute and Dutch winger Romeo Castelen clinched the win for the Wanderers in the 79th minute.

Steven Lustica and Jamie Maclaren scored late in the second half Saturday to give the second-place Brisbane Roar a 2-1 win over the Wellington Phoenix in a match played in the tropical north Queensland city of Cairns.

Roy Krishna gave Wellington the lead a minute into first-half added time but Lustica scored in the 71st minute and Maclaren in the 86th to give the Roar the win.

On Friday, a last-minute Marcelo Carrusca penalty gave Adelaide United a 2-1 home win over Sydney FC. Sydney played with 10 men from the 28th minute when Alex Gersbach was sent off for a lunging tackle on Jimmy Jeggo.

United was awarded a contentious penalty in the fifth minute of added time following Jacques Faty’s foul on Adelaide’s Dylan McGowan.

“Eleven (players) against 10, I thought we did exceptionally well, and it was criminal how it ended,” Sydney coach Graham Arnold said.
