ATLANTA (AP) - Junior tailback Deon Jackson rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns to lift Pace Academy to a 42-21 win over Fitzgerald in the Georgia High School Association’s Class AA championship game at the Georgia Dome.

Jackson scored on runs of 35, 16 and 4 yards and caught four passes for 50 yards to help the Knights (13-2) win their first state championship.

Quarterback Gunnor Faulk completed 13 of 15 passes for 148 yards and one touchdown, a 16-yard throw to Spencer Hemmingway, and rushed for 46 yards. Realus George rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

Fitzgerald (13-2) was led by sophomore quarterback James Graham, who rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown and threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Montrell Harris. J.D. King ran for 55 yards and scored the other touchdown on a 2-yard run and Harris rushed for 62 yards for the Purple Hurricanes.
