MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Authorities say a discarded lunch box provided the critical clue in finding a missing 7-year-old boy in Berthold

KXMC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/21XsZ7G ) that the boy was reported missing Friday when he failed to show up at home after school.

Several agencies joined family and friends in the intense search that included a search plane and tracking dog.

Volunteer searchers were given specific parts of town to search and the boy was found nearly four hours after leaving the school when a searcher noticed a lunch box near a church.

The missing boy was found trapped in a window well, unable to escape from the five-foot-deep hole.

The child was taken by ambulance a Minot hospital where he was treated for frostbite.

Officials say he is expected to make a full recovery.
