LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) - Jacqez Hairston ran for 352 yards and two long touchdowns and Magna Vista beat Lord Botetourt 47-21 Saturday to win the Virginia High School League’s 3A state football championship for the second year in a row.

Shoalin McGuire passed for 192 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a fifth score for Magna Vista (13-2).

Hairston scored on an 80-yard run in the first half and a 60-yarder just after halftime, giving Magna Vista a 33-7 lead.

Noah Fletcher ran for 144 yards and a 61-yard TD in the third quarter for Lord Botetourt (13-2).

Garrison Mayo added a 22-yard TD reception from Ryan Fralin and scored on a 45-yard run for the Cavaliers.

McGuire’s scoring passes covered 41 and 30 yards to D’Andra Hayden, 15 yards to Devin Johnston and 20 yards to Tra Redd.
